Miss Sass Puts Pen to Paper

Looking ahead to exciting times...

She's honest and eloquent and even brings up what I've been discussing - the lack of attention gym gets in this country despite its popularity when Olympics/CommGames roll around.

Read Dasha J's insightful first column in a series being published in the lead-up to Beijing here.

Great stuff!

This is a very well-written blog. It's great that someone's out there talking about Australian gymnastics in such detail. Hehe, that's for both you and Dasha. I hope Dasha's column gets people noticing gymnastics and understanding more about it (no, they don't just compete at the Olympics; yes, there are real people behind gymnastics, not little girl dolls). She's eloquent all right, although at the beginning I did think she was trying to sound mature. But I wouldn't know without seeing other stuff she's written. I reckon teh comment she makes at the beginning about having the responsibility to show gymnastics to Australia applies both to the column and her gymnsatics. With Hollie gone and Chloe who know where, she (and to some extent Lauren) is basically the team. It must be a lot of pressure. I see you're from Melbourne; so am I, actually. You going to see nationals and AUS vs JPN?

EDIT: Ignore the JPN part, for some reason I thought the unknown international team at nationals was Japan.

Heheheh, don't worry about it. No doubt it will be either China or Japan again.

I hope to go, and report back here. Look for a girl scribbling furiously with a notepad (laptop, logistically speaking, might be a bit hard)!

Many thanks for the feedback :)

When you have a chance, do check out the latest www.internationalgymnast-digital.com

There's quite a bit of Aussie content.

Loving your blog too!

Yeah, checked it out yesterday but thanks for thinking to tell me. It's quite cool to have an Aussie supplement (AND an interview with Lauren!) after having seen the Canadian one. Interesting content, stay tuned for comments...

Thanks for the kind words :)
