Painting the Town Pink

The "P" in VWHPC stands for "Performance" but on March 5th, it could stand for a lot of things - preparation, presentation, precision, poise, perspiration, perfection, personality, planches, punches, pikes and pointed-toes, but mostly it'll stand for Pink!

The Victorian Women's High Performance Centre (in Prahran, how Perfectly aPProPriate!) is hosting an open day at training once again.

See the event's Facebook page here and find out more about the gym here.

All are welcome to attend from 8am onwards, they simply ask that you make a donation at the door which will go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Yours truly will be there!

They did a fabulous job last year and raised $2000 I heard. The gym look fantastic and the girls all looked lovely in the PINK breast cancer leotards. I hope they have a very successful day, and its great to see the girls supporting a very valuable cause.

So... lot's of International comps this year. Wonder who's going to Manchester and Montreal????????

I hear through the grape vine that Katie Wurth has been selected to go to the wild rose cup in Canada! Beautiful gymnast

Manchester and Montreal are only a few weeks away so they will probably announce teams soon, then again they don't always send people to the comps they have listed

oooo I hope it's true about Katie. She totally deserves an Aussie leotard. Wild Rose has a team comp with three girls per team, so hopefully we will send 2 others as well.

Does anyone know how Georgia Simpson is? I really want her to get a meet soon.

Here is a draft rundown frm Jan of the whole elite year. It would be so cool if they could have an AUS v CHN in conjunction with Vics. In Melbs people will actually go to the meet.

Wild Rose in Canada is only a few days after Friendship Classic in the US. I wonder if they might send the same team.

Here is the WILD Rose website:

Seems Australia has entered a junior team as well as a senior team so 3 lucky juniors should get an exciting opportunity too.

oooooo AUS v CHN in Melbourne would be the highlight of the year. We have been starved to breaking point by these past few nationals in Perth with next to no coverage at all. I pray it goes ahead, although I'm going to try and not get too excited in case it doesn't happen.

so nobody knows anything about AUS/GBR? If the meet was actually on I think we'd know the teams since they'd be leaving in 2 weeks. Maybe it's not going ahead after all.

Mez and Zoe are in the team AUS V GRB, and I have heard that Britt, Georgia Rose Brown and Tierra are going as the AUS team at the wild Rose invitational. Who else is in the team with Zoe and Mez?

Well there are only 3 Snr spots at wild rose so if they are going then Katie can't be. Unless they change their entry from 1 jnr team and 1 snr to 2 snr teams, which IMO is a lot more logical.

In terms of AUS-GBR, one would assume a team would be about 5 girls - which leaves ~3 spots. Assuming Katie has an assignment, I think those girls would have to come out of

Emily
Georgia S
Nikki
Angela
Milly M
Georgia W
Larrissa

If Cottbus pans out I think Emily and Larrissa will probably go there because they already have world cup experience and are competitive in EF format. So I would say most likely the rest of the team will actually be out of

Natalia
Georgia S
Nikki
Angela
Milly M
Georgia W

Will any juniors to going to GBR? Maybe it is a combined junior/senior team, allowing them to send Nedov?

I thought that Georgia RB hurt her
knee at the last camp? Is she able to compete?
